“I have a K2500S, On the sample page the mode parameter has a setting called “LiveIn” what is this used for? I can not find any reference to it in my manuals.”
Your reference manuals may not be as up to date as your software. Live Mode is one of the most interesting features of the K2500 and K2600, but older software versions of the 2500 didn’t have it, thus it was not mentioned in the manuals.
Live Mode allows you to bring external signals into the machine to be processed by the awesome VAST engine and KDFX processor (if you have that option) in real time. Think what it would be like to process your vocal track through the synthesis engine of your Kurzweil; that’s Live Mode.
In order to use Live Mode you need a K2500 or K2600, at least 1 MB of sample RAM installed, OS version 2.8 or above software, and the sampling option. The sampling option is required to give you an audio input. The programs in the 700 bank are specifically designed to be used with Live Mode. Instructions for Live Mode are included in the 2.8 software upgrade release notes as well as newer versions of the owner’s manual.
