We just spent some time with Korg’s latest M3 and just had to tell you how impressed we were. While ad copy promising lots of OASYS features makes for a good read, it’s gratifying to see the company has actually done it! And not just a hint of it here and there, but right from the get-go with its Enhanced Definition Synthesis (EDS) sound generator, which was directly derived from the OASYS HD-1 sound engine. There’s even some advanced KARMA functionality implemented along with a multi-purpose control surface. The 88-note version is perfect if you’ve been limping along with a 61- or 73-note synth action keyboard, as the tactile response is superb and on par with dedicated controllers thanks to the real weighted hammer action which Korg is calling RH3. Got all the keys you’ll ever want or need (and maybe one or two too many)? Then the M3-M might just be right up your alley. It’s an M3 without keys, period. Nothing else has been sacrificed to cram all the features into a compact unit. We have all of the M3s in stock right now at great Sweetwater prices.
