Korg just dropped off their enhanced D1600 workstation, the D1600V40. This 16-track recorder was hugely powerful in the first place, with a 24-channel, 8-bus mixing section, 8 virtual tracks per physical track, 16-track simultaneous playback, etc. Now, Korg has added a CD-RW and a massive 40GB internal hard drive.
Yamaha has released the long awaited MIDI Templates for the AW4416 workstation. These make it possible to more effectively control your software MIDI sequencer from the 4416. Currently there are (free) download for SONAR, Logic, and Cubase posted on Yamaha’s site.
Sweetwater customers who live in the New England area may want to check out the Web site for a band called PINK VOYD. They are a Pink Floyd tribute band out of Boston, MA that go all out with sounds, atmospherics, lights, lasers, and video to produce an other-worldly event.
Their Kurzweil synthesizers, used by all four members of the band feature a wide variety of our Sweetwater Soundware CD-ROMs. This is no surprise since PINK VOYD’s keyboard player, Daniel Fisher, was the Chief Soundware Engineer at Sweetwater who created the programming for all these CD-ROMs. If you’re in the area you can hear these CD-ROMs put to use on Saturday, April 27th at Good Times in Somerville, MA. Also be sure to check out the sounds on the Sweetwater Web Site. There are downloadable demos and special offers available.
