“I’ve been doing audio for a video project of mine where I have been using Final Cut Pro on a Mac. I did some audio work on another Mac system using MOTU hardware and software. However, when I import audio from a burned audio CD into the Final Cut session it sometimes breaks up and has clicks and pops. What gives?”
If your Final Cut movie clips came in from digital video through Firewire (as opposed to an analog capture card) you will not have success importing audio at 44.1, especially on older versions of Final Cut. It has to do with the capture rate of the video and audio coming in over the Firewire protocol. There’s an option to convert your audio to 48k or 32k upon import. Choose either of those and you’ll be fine.
