Import

The process of pulling data into a program that either originated in a different program, or is from a different project in the same program, but needs to be integrated with other data. Sometimes importing requires some type of conversion in order to make the data workable in the importing program. Many times this conversion is built into the import process; however, it sometimes must be executed by a separate application. In audio (and video) it is quite common these days to have to import audio, MIDI, or video files as part of a project.
