IEC958 Part-3

A digital interface protocol standardized by the IEC that is used to transfer digital audio data between consumer-type digital audio equipment such as CD players and DAT, DCC, and Mini Disc recorders. Two channels of digital audio (left/right) are carried on a single line. A coaxial phono/RCAjack connection is typical, but some systems use optical interconnects. This format is commonly known as S/PDIF.
