Reader David B. had the following suggestion in response to the TTOTD from 6/24. You might recall that reader Mal M. was wondering how he could even out the levels of an interviewer and interviewee recorded on the same track.
David suggests:
"1. Bounce two tracks, one for the interviewer and one for the interviewee, and optimize each for its particular problem.
2. Merge the two bounced tracks back into one master track, riding the gain controls all the way down the track and using punch in and out freely to snip and paste the good "takes" together.
Lot of work but certainly easier than the price of new gear etc."
Thanks for the suggestion David, this should work quite well. On a digital audio editor like Mal mentions using, it should be quite easy to simply cut and paste each track to create the final composite…
