Emagic’s new software synthesizer has arrived. The ES1 turned a lot of heads and blew a lot of people away at the recent winter NAMM show in Los Angeles. Depending on your computer’s performance you can use up to 8 ES1 instruments simultaneously in your Logic Audio program (MicroLogic AV, Silver, Gold and Platinum), each with up to 16 voices with all parameters completely automated. It is also soon to be available as a TDM plug-in for Logic Audio Pro Tools systems.

Iomega has recently announced an adapter that will allow their SCSI Jaz drives to be connected to USB ports on computers. The announced price of the adapter is $79.99 and they say it is compatible with Mac, Windows 95/98, and NT. They also plan a Firewire interface for later this year.
