Another long awaited product is finally hitting the streets. Yes, you can stop holding your breath because we have received our first shipment of Mackie HDR 24/96 recorders. Of course we haven’t received nearly enough to fill our backorders yet, but at least this means it is real, and you should be able to get one within the next month or two. We expect the debate to heat up between this and the TASCAM MX2424 quite a bit. EMagic is releasing the Audiowerk8 Surround Kit. Based around the Audiowerk8 hard disk recording system the ‘kit’ includes the interface, a 2 x 8 breakout cable, a Mac/Windows hybrid CD ROM containing the Logic Surround Program, support files, and PDF manuals. Logic Surround is based on Micrologic AV, but with the added support files turns into a powerful surround mixing platform.
