Much of the new music software is being distributed on CD-ROMs. The Macintosh instructions for these CD-ROMs tell you to disable all extensions before installing the software. There is no mention of the fact that doing so will also disable your CD-ROM extension, preventing your computer from seeing the drive! The solution is to use Extension Manager to create a custom "install" extension set which includes the CD-ROM extension…
