Steinberg has announced a new update to Cubase System|4, which now includes the world-class Cubase SL 3.1 sequencer. There’s also a new driver for Mac OS X 10.4, which ensures full compatibility with Apple’s newest operating system. Cubase System|4 is the first integrated, cross-platform music production system from Steinberg, with a versatile 4-channel 24-bit/96kHz USB audio and 16-channel MIDI interface they’re calling MI4. There are two professional-quality microphone preamps onboard along with S/PDIF digital in and out. Cubase SL 3.1 now delivers an unlimited number of MIDI and audio tracks along with a VST 2.3 audio engine with pristine 32-bit floating point audio and up to 16 virtual instrument slots (VSTi’s). As you’d expect, Cubase ships with a comprehensive set of plug-ins.
