Composite Video

A type of video signal where all information such as color, brightness, line, field, sync, and blanking is mixed together using one of the coding standards such as NTSC, PAL, SECAM, etc. This is as opposed to component video where at least the luminance (brightness) and chrominance (color) information are sent separately (sometimes each color is even sent separately). Just about anytime you are working with a video signal where only one wire is used, such as in typical coax, it is composite video.
