Q: I currently use a BOSS DD-3 Digital Delay in my setup, but I see there is now a BOSS DD-7 in the company’s lineup. What’s the difference, and should I upgrade?
A: The main differences between the pedals is that the DD-7 has a longer delay (3,200ms compared to the DD-3’s 800ms), a tap tempo function, a Reverse mode, an Analog Delay mode (for those who want their echoes to gradually become darker), a Modulate mode (which adds a subtle chorus-type effect to the delayed signal), and a full 40-second Hold function. It’s worth noting that the DD-7 is also a true stereo pedal, with left and right inputs and outputs.
