Bar Bridge

This is the one-piece bridge and tailpiece invented by Ted McCarty in the early 1950s. The first Gibson Les Paul model of 1952 had a “trapeze bridge and tailpiece.” The Bar Bridge (also called the McCarty bridge) replaced it in 1953. The design allowed for easier adjustment of both intonation and string height.
