In music, whenever a perfect or major interval is increased by a semitone (or 1/2 step), it becomes augmented; for instance:
Augmented 1st – C up to C sharp
Augmented 2nd – C up to D sharp
Augmented 4th – C up to F sharp
Augmented 5th – C up to G sharp
Augmented 6th – C up to A sharp
