Every once in a while we come across a product that’s just so slick that we feel we have to share the news with everyone, even though we don’t carry it ourselves. Roni Music is a small, but highly innovative software company. Their main product is the aptly named Amazing Slow Downer, which pretty much does what it says: It allows you to slow down the speed of an audio file – in real time – without altering pitch. This makes it great for working out complex solos since the speed can be reduced by -50% all the way to -400%, and all with surprisingly high sound quality. You can also change the pitch in cents or semi-tones without affecting the timing. Best of all, Amazing Slow Downer handles most formats, including MP3, AIFF, AAC, and WAV and is available for both Mac and Windows computers. A demo version (limited to processing 30 seconds of audio) can be downloaded. The full version is surprisingly affordable and definitely worth checking out!
