Antelope Audio has announced the Isochrone 10m atomic master clock. The hyperfine structure of the unit’s rubidium element produces a clock that is 100,000 times more stable than a crystal oscillator. (An average crystal oscillator running at 98kHz might lose one sample per second; the 10m is said to be sample-accurate for up to eight days.) Jitter is practically immeasurable at 0.03 parts per billion. The 10m is compatible with any audio converters that can lock to an external clock using wordclock, S/PDIF, or AES connectors.
