ART has been building some pretty awesome – and unbelievably affordable – tube preamps for quite some time. Now the company has announced a new product in their desktop preamp range, the Tube MP Project USB. As the name suggests, you get built-in USB connectivity alongside all the features of the standard Tube MP Project preamp. The unit is a single-channel, phantom-powered preamp with a real (not digitally simulated) 12AX7 vacuum tube. It’s got line, instrument, and microphone connections, LED metering, buttons for phase inversion, a high-pass filter, and a -20dB pad. The preamp has two switchable input impedances and even an automatic output limiter. ART expects to be shipping these in June.
