Not content with near total global domination, Apple has not only released a new version of its hugely popular iTunes software for Mac and PC, but also introduced the impossibly small iPod nano. And, oh yeah, they also unveiled the first mobile phone with iTunes support, the Motorola (you know, the “moto” guys) ROKR. Cute – “rocker” – get it? This phone can store up to 100 songs and pauses automatically when a call comes in. Are you kidding us?

Imagine an iPod. Now imagine an iPod that’s smaller and lighter, then shrink it again until it’s pencil-thin and not really much bigger than a credit card. With 2GB (500 songs) and 4GB (1,000 songs) models, the iPod nano (with a stylish, lower-case “n”) packs the whole iPod mystique into a nearly impossibly small design.
It holds up to three days worth of music. It plays for up to 14 hours between battery charges. It displays the color album art for the song you’re listening to. It carries your photos, podcasts, and audiobooks. It syncs with iTunes. It’s touch-sensitive. It connects to a whole bunch of iPod accessories. It comes in white or black. You can use the optional armband and jog with it, and hardly notice it’s there. Now please, who wouldn’t want one?
