The geniuses at Antares have ported their astounding Mic Modeler plug-in to the VST environment. It is now available in TDM, MAS, and VST. If you haven’t had a chance to use this plug-in yet you are really missing something wonderful. It can dramatically or subtly change the sound of a microphone to most any other microphone. We know it sounds like hocus-pocus, and “how could this really work,” but it does. You must check it out.

The New Gear Directory is designed as a supplement and update to our Main 2000 Equipment Directory so it primarily has equipment that’s just been released in the last few months. We are sad to report this will be the last issue of inSync. We’ve enjoyed bringing you the information for the last few years, but we’ve decided to move on and devote our energy to more profitable endeavors. Even though it’s a .com entity (a sure way to attract investors who need a tax write off) we’ve found that it simply doesn’t lose enough money yearly to generate any real investment interest (perhaps the inSync editor needs a raise). And since we are only in this for the quick buck and will bail out as soon as the VC money arrives we can’t afford to put any more actual work and good will into it. We wish everyone the best.
