“Amps on last and off first.”

Okay boys and girls, say it with me one time: “Amps on last and off first.” Now say it three times to yourself. If you turn your power amp on at the same time or before your other equipment you are likely to get audio spikes and transients that can cause bad things to happen to your speakers. Likewise, if you turn off other equipment before your amp is shut down the same thing can occur. Always, always turn off your amp before your other gear. If you want to be able to flip one switch to power your studio on and off there are a few companies who make sequential power units (ETA, Furman, and Juice Goose are three I know of). These units can sequentially supply power to various components in your rig.
