One of the features that makes the Alesis Fusion different from many other samplers is that it loads its sounds as you scroll past them. The beauty of this is that you never need to go to a “Disk” mode, scroll to your file, and then decide where you’re going to load it. Instead, you just scroll past the Program you want and it loads.
Although it rarely takes more than a second or two to load a Program, it may be too long of a wait for live situations. Here are some tips that will make your program changes instantaneous.
- Go to Global/Options/Settings and set “Load programs on power up” to “Last mode only.” This will prevent Fusion from automatically loading your Songs and Mixes until you ask for them.
- Get all of your favorite Programs and store copies of them in your USER Bank.
- Now scroll past those Programs once and they’ll all be loaded.
Notice how you can now scroll between them instantly. If you have many Programs or use Programs with large sample sizes you will really enjoy having the E3 RAM Memory Upgrade. Installing two of these RAM chips will take your sample memory from 64MB to 192MB.
