At the AES Convention, Allen & Heath introduced the ZED-14, a small-format, USB-equipped mixer for stage and studio. Now the company has announced three additional mixers in the line. The ZED-420 has 16 mono and two stereo channels while the ZED-428 features 24 mono and two stereo channels. Finally, the ZED-436 houses (you guessed it!) 32 mono and two stereo channels. Similar to the ZED-14, the 4-bus series features the same DuoPre padless preamp, which is a high-quality microphone circuit and an optimized line input circuit – a significant improvement over preamps that handle both mic and line signals. All the ZED mixers feature USB connectivity perfect for recording on either a Mac or PC system.
