One of the coolest products we saw at the recent winter NAMM show was Boss‘ BR-8 digital recording system. The BR-8 is a full featured recording system modeled after Roland’s legendary VS-880. Functioning a lot like the VS series recorders, the BR-8 adds a built in rhythm and style generator to help you put tracks together quickly. It also incorporates some of the capabilities of Roland’s ground breaking Vari-Phrase technology, which allows tracks to be easily manipulated with independent control over tempo and pitch.
Our friends at Z-Systems have recently announced a pair of very powerful processors designed specifically for surround sound applications. The z-Q6 six-channel digital mastering equalizer and the z-CL6 six-channel digital dynamics processor incorporates Z-Systems‘ proprietary digital signal processing algorithms, intuitive user interfaces, and the highest-quality parts in a system that makes this type of multi-channel processing a breeze.
