Digidesign has released version 2.0 of their Post Conform software. New features include 24-bit audio support, USD support, USB support, Keyspan USB to serial support, B & W G3 and G4 support, and storage of unique identifier strings in file names. The new version can be downloaded from Digidesign’s Web site.
Emagic is going to be including a new feature called SDL in upcoming 4.5 versions of Logic as well as the new 3.0 version of Sound Diver. SDL is an abbreviation for Studio Description Language. The new feature will provide an effective way for Logic and Sound Diver to share information about the configuration of a MIDI setup, including patch names, ports, channels, etc. Logic Audio 4.5 will also add a host of other great new features including surround mixing and other routing enhancements. The free update will soon be available for download from their Web site.
