The Multiface I/O box from X-Vision Audio/RME recently arrived. This is a 36-channel interface with 8 analog inputs and outputs, balanced and 96 kHz/24 bit. It also includes ADAT optical I/O, ADAT-Sync In, SPDIF I/O, MIDI I/O, word clock I/O and a separate analog line output.
Producer Miroslav Vitous has created a comprehensive choir sample collection that includes multi-sampled syllables plus sounds like laughing and crying. It will be available in Akai, Emu, and GigaStudio formats and distributed by Ilio. The Akai/Emu CD ROM will retail for $599 and the Giga CD ROM, which will contain extra programming features, will retail for $799.
