Grammy-winning singer and pianist Marc Cohn was shot in the head during an attempted carjacking after a concert in Denver but survived with only minor injuries. According to police spokesman Sonny Jackson, Cohn had just finished a performance when a man fleeing on foot from police tried to commandeer the van Cohn was riding in.
When the driver refused to stop, the suspect fired into the vehicle, striking Cohn in the temple. Surgeons removed the bullet and released him in good condition the next morning. The suspect, who was on the run from police after an earlier carjacking, as well as using a stolen credit card and failing to appear in court, was ultimately apprehended (and hopefully will stay apprehended).
Our best wishes to Marc Cohn for a swift recovery; we’re relieved the outcome of this scary incident wasn’t worse! To paraphrase immortal words, “Let’s be careful out there…”
