Following Native Instruments’ release of the TRAKTOR 3.2. update (with Intel Mac compatibility), registered TRAKTOR users can now download the version 3.2.2 update absolutely free. However, if you’re using an Intel Mac and activated TRAKTOR 3 for the first time before September 12, 2006, you will need to purchase the 3.2 Intel-Mac update in the NI Online Shop. You will then receive a new serial number, required for the installation on Intel-Mac computers.
Native Instruments has also created a page on their web site with information about their products and Windows Vista. The content will be updated and expanded over time to address additional questions and reflect further developments. In general, NI products operate without specific problems or limitations under this operating system. However, Windows XP is currently still recommended for professional music production due to its proven reliability and compatibility.
Focusrite has announced Liquid Mix v2.0, a new software release for Liquid Mix, Focusrite’s DSP-powered dynamic convolution mix processor, which delivers 32 channels of EQ and compression simultaneously. The new software release will be available for free to download early in April 2007 and delivers a number of improvements over the original software, such as an EQ sidechain on the compressor. V2.0 also ensures that the hardware follows the software GUI functionality accurately, as well as delivering improved stability on both PC and Mac platforms, making Liquid Mix rock-solid, even when operating with all 32 instances simultaneously.
