Digidesign hit another one out of the ballpark with its new Structure professional sampler workstation plug-in about a month ago. Naturally, musicians not requiring all the features of Structure, but still wanting access to some of its capabilities will rejoice at this news: Digidesign is releasing two new versions that will allow even more users to benefit from the plug-in’s remarkable capabilities. Developed by the acclaimed Digidesign Advanced Instrument Research (A.I.R.) group and optimized exclusively for Pro Tools software, Structure LE provides many of the same powerful and creative features as its big brother, but at a fraction of the price. Meanwhile, Structure Free offers a great introduction to the Structure sample playback system, but at no charge!
Structure LE is an advanced RTAS sample player that provides many of the same key features as Structure, allowing users to quickly and easily integrate a wide range of sounds into their Pro Tools sessions and then tweak them to their heart’s content. Structure LE even ships with a professional 3GB sound library from the A.I.R. group, offering a wide variety of acoustic and electronic instruments and sounds. Structure Free provides a great way for users to see if this software is right for them and offers a simplified feature set for sample playback and patch adjustment. It comes with a 600MB sound library from the A.I.R. group.
Both Structure LE and Structure Free support playback of native Structure files and both also support playback of unencrypted SampleCell (1 and 2), Kontakt (1 and 2), and EXS24 sound libraries, as well as a REX player that plays both REX 1 and 2 files. Like Structure, Structure LE and Structure Free work on all Pro Tools platforms: Pro Tools|HD, Pro Tools LE, Pro Tools M-Powered, and Pro Tools Academic.
