Apple has just unveiled the world’s thinnest notebook computer: MacBook Air. It measures an astonishing 0.16 inches at its thinnest point, while even its maximum height of 0.76 inches is less than the thinnest point on any competing notebooks. It has a bright, clear 13.3-inch LED-backlit widescreen display, as well as a full-size, backlit keyboard, a built-in iSight video camera for video conferencing, and a comfortable trackpad with multi-touch gesture support, which lets users pinch, rotate, and swipe to their heart’s content. The new notebook comes powered by either a 1.6 GHz or 1.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor with 4MB of L2 cache, as well as such standard features as 2GB of memory, an 80GB 1.8-inch hard drive, and the latest 802.11n Wi-Fi technology and Bluetooth 2.1. Word is, MacBook Air begins shipping in two weeks and you can bet that pre-release orders are already pouring in!
