This past weekend saw the 2009 edition of the awesome PRS Experience open house — two full days of clinics, concerts, and more at the PRS factory in Stevensville, Maryland. The Sweetwater crew was there, and we’ll be bringing you reports on the new guitars and the events in our various publications soon. To kick things off, among the 25th-anniversary guitars PRS debuted was the stunning 25th-anniversary Dragon Model Limited Run guitar, which features an astoundingly complex dragon inlay on the fretboard, made from a variety of colorful, exotic materials. Other highlights include 24 frets, a 24.5″ scale length, solid rosewood neck and fingerboard, carved curly maple Private Stock top and African striped mahogany back, 59/09 Treble and Bass pickups, and a PRS tremolo. The body shape is drawn from one of Paul Smith’s early guitars, similar to the Howard Leese Private Stock guitar.
