Using Balanced Wires

When you are designing TT or other soldered patchbays for your studio (or having them designed by a pro) there are always questions on how to deal with interfacing balanced and unbalanced gear. While this is a huge topic (beyond the scope of a daily tip, unfortunately) there is one thing you can do: Use balanced wiring for all your gear, terminated with the proper balanced or unbalanced connectors. That way, when it comes time to change or update your studio gear, the balanced wires will already be in place, making the transition much simpler – just change the connectors and you are off and running.
