We have received reliable reports that putting a G4 upgrade into a Mac 9600 reveals a bug in the PCI bridge chip that is used to tie the two banks of three PCI slots together. This is only a problem if you are using two PCI bus master cards. Since many Pro Tools users have two buss master cards (the main Digi card and the SCSI card) it is advisable to avoid the G4 upgrades at this time. G3 upgrades work fine.
