Installing Digital Performer on large hard drives.

According to our Service and Installation department there are problems installing Digital Performer onto very large hard drives, like the 80 gigabyte drive that comes in the G4 with the dual 800 MHz processors. When attempting to install DP, you may get an error that saying the necessary space is not available. MOTU has documented this as a problem with the VISE installer software and is addressing it. A solution should be available soon. In the meantime, systems with 80 gigabyte drives will require that the drive be partitioned into two 40 gigabyte volumes. This has been tested as a viable solution and works fine. If you record audio to your main drive, which we do not recommend, you should partition it anyway.
