“I recently purchased one of those Marathon rack mount kits for my Mac G4. The kit I have is the one that mounts the computer on its side. After getting the system all put in the rack I discovered that the SuperDrive doesn’t have any way to secure a CD placed in it. The computer isn’t going to be able to sit sideways in the rack so I’m wondering if there is either a different rack mount kit that will mount it upright or something I can do differently with the drive?”
This problem is actually easy to solve. The CD drive tray has a place for little clips that will hold a CD in place even when the computer is sitting on its side. The Sweetwater Service Department can send you some of these clips at no charge. In hindsight this is probably something that should just come with the rack mount kit in the first place. We’ll look in to that on this end.
