Posture Makes Perfect – Keyboard Body Positioning.

The position of your body when you practice or play your keyboard is more important than one might think. In fact, poor posture can lead to health problems over the years – especially if you play day in and day out; none of us want to deal with Tendonitis or Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. So, what would most piano teacher say? Essentially, keep your back straight and try not to slouch. While many keyboard players are also performing on stage, unless you’re digging into a rock glissando on your B3 or busy kicking over amps, try to stay relaxed when possible. Also, you want your torso to be straight and stable so your arms and hands can do all the work (instead of your back) with a minimum of strain.
