Q: I’m having a few dropouts when I use Ivory with other instruments. What can I do to maximize performance with my computer?
A: If you start experiencing dropouts without seeing the “Slow Disk” warning to the left of the MIDI lights on the Ivory main page, don’t panic! The problem likely lies in maximizing RAM usage. This typically pop up when you’re using Ivory with additional orchestrations. Here are some things to try: First, turn off the Release samples. If the problem persists, turn off Ivory’s Soft Pedal (una corda) samples, then try decreasing Ivory’s Buffer size. If none of these work, you may need to choose a preset with fewer dynamic layers (i.e., six rather than eight or more).
