Sound Morphing in FM8

One of the coolest features of Native Instruments’ FM8 software synthesizer is its ability to morph between four arbitrarily selected timbres. Basically, there is an X-Y control with each corner corresponding to one complex timbre. The four FM8 sounds can be assigned by using drag and drop from the Sound Browser. A graphic handle in the square is used for setting the interpolation (or more precisely, interpolated from the corner’s parameter values). When using FM8 as a plug-in within a host that supports automation, the handle’s movement can be automated. Note: Only timbre settings can be morphed.
