Force Quitting an Application

Probably most – if not all – Mac OS X users know how to Force Quit a program that’s begun to display erratic behavior. Go to the Apple menu (under the blue Apple logo on the far left of the menu bar), then scroll down to Force Quit. This opens a menu of currently open applications. Typically (but not always), you’ll see “Not Responding” to the right of any program that’s giving you problems. But there’s a nice shortcut to get there: Simultaneously press Command-Option-Esc and the Force Quit pop-up window appears. Quite handy for those times when the Finder has frozen.
