You can save a surprising amount of time in your workflow by using key equivalents or key commands. Here’s an example. Many Mac dialogs offer three options or selections: “Don’t Save,” “Cancel,” and “Save.”
In this case, there are key equivalents that will make the selection and close the dialog quickly:
- Don’t Save = Command (aka Apple) + D
- Cancel = Command (aka Apple) + . (works in almost any dialog box with a “cancel” option)
- Save = Enter or Return (works in just about any dialog box to choose the default or suggested selection)
