Reinforced Flatwound Strings Deliver Mellow Tones

Do your current strings struggle to keep up with you? Gibson Brite Wire reinforced electric bass strings are designed with aggressive players in mind. They utilize a specially-formulated high-carbon steel core wire that creates a forceful attack with a long sustain. Next, Gibson uses ultra-precise winding machines to wrap the flat in a round nickel-plated wrap wire. This special winding process helps the strings deliver the warm, mellow character that players can't get enough of. Bassists here at Sweetwater love these flatwound strings for their soft feel, reliable performance, and old-school sound. If you're looking for strings that will easily keep up with your high-octane playing style, make sure to try Gibson Brite Wire reinforced electric bass strings.

Reviews

Gibson short scale flats - who knew?
I play a short scale fretless, and I need flexible low tensions strings. There don't seem to be any around, but I saw these on Sweetwater and decided to give them a shot. And I'm happy I gave them a try.

They fit my 30" scale bass perfectly, they're fully silked, and they're not particularly zingy, even new. I'd say these are closer to extra light rounds for tension, maybe a hint stiffer, but less stiff than lights.

If you're like me and don't want to wrestle stiff bass strings, you'll know that even Flexible Flats aren't that low tension. These are the lightest short scale strings I've used. They're responsive, a bit mid-heavy, but in a good way. I have arthritis, and these let me play the way I want to for longer with no issues.
Music background: Playing bass since 1993
Nice quality flat wounds
I purchased these for my new Fender mini P bass which will be pretty much used 90% for recording.
I checked out a YouTube video on the Fender mini P bass comparing supplies stock strings and flat wounds. For the sound I need, these flat wounds work great.
Thanks to Sweetwater Sales Rep Mason for his sound engineering background assistance.
