Short-scale Bass from G&L That's Big on Tone and Feel!
If you're a guitarist wanting to cross over to bass as a second instrument, then the Fullerton Deluxe Fallout Short-scale Bass Guitar from G&L will make the transition both smooth and incredibly enjoyable! This 30-inch scale bass provides a feel and — most importantly — a neck that mirrors a standard-sized guitar. Strap the Fallout on straight after jamming on your electric guitar, and your fretting hand and fingers won't feel the shock of the change so dramatically. In addition, bass players will appreciate how this shorter-scale instrument delivers a sweet, singing, distinct tone that is killer onstage and in the studio. A resonant, lightweight alder body keeps the Fallout at just over 10 pounds; a smooth maple neck with a matching fingerboard delivers stellar playability. And with a deep belly scoop, the Fallout is ultra-easy on the back for hours of comfortable play while standing.

Magnetic Field Design pickup brings the thunder
Though the Fallout is smaller in size, it's big on sound thanks to a single G&L Magnetic Field Design (MFD) humbucking pickup. This potent pickup also has three toggle modes: split, parallel, and "OMG" or series mode. The MFD pickup is built around a ceramic bar magnet laid under each coil, and they feature individually adjustable pole pieces to give you complete control over your tone. Their inherent sound is warm and deep, with punchy high mids and an open top end. Plus, with double the output per wind over standard designs, Magnetic Field Design pickups will easily push any amplifier into its sweet spot.
Saddle-Lock bridge increases resonance and sustain
Another G&L innovation has found its way into the Fullerton Deluxe Fallout bass: the G&L Saddle-Lock bridge. Designed by Leo Fender himself, the Saddle-Lock bridge reduces the lateral movement of the saddle pieces by tightening an Allen screw on the side of the bridge. Additionally, the Saddle-Lock bridge has a solid protrusion on its backside that is sunk firmly into the instrument’s body wood. Together, these two features make it easier for string energy to travel into the body and translate into a rich, resonant, and sustaining sound — a big reason why G&L basses are popular with rock bassists at Sweetwater.
