The TRQ9S is all aces across an endless range of musical applications. This horn includes both Bb and A leadpipe shanks, and its 0.450-inch bore delivers a beautiful, focused sound with superb intonation. The TRQ9S's hand-lapped monel valves supply smooth, quick action and excellent resistance to impact damage, moisture, and air leaks. Beyond that, this horn's four-piston valve cluster contains standard-weight 2-piece valve casings with nickel-silver balusters and lower valve caps, infusing delicate passages with extraordinary response and clarity. To top it off, the ergonomic placement of the TRQ9S's fourth valve allows it to be played comfortably by either your right or left hand.

Constructed from yellow brass, the S.E. Shires TRQ9S's hand-hammered, 4-inch, 1-piece bell was handcrafted using the same artisanal processes employed as S.E. Shires' larger bells, resulting in the same superior playing characteristics and richness of sound. Moreover, this bell includes a traditionally brazed seam and unsoldered bead wire. This piccolo trumpet's bell also includes an S.E. Shires makers mark, model designation, and traditional floral engraving for an eye-grabbing look. The TRQ9S features a silver-plated brass body, which lends a brilliant sheen to every note you play.
