Gaining worldwide recognition for his incredible talents behind the drum kit as the founding drummer of Dream Theater, Mike Portnoy has amounted a musical résumé that few could ever hope to conjure. He recorded 11 albums with the band between 1989 and 2009, in addition to the group’s 16th and latest effort, Parasomnia. Aside from his Dream Theater duties at the throne, Mike has also enjoyed collaborating with numerous other groups while receiving an unfathomable 32 awards from Modern Drummer magazine praising his prowess.
