Honorary China Cymbal for Dom Famularo
To drummers here at Sweetwater and many drummers worldwide, Dom Famularo was long known as “Drumming’s Global Ambassador.” Another thing Dom was known for was playing his china cymbals by striking both sides of the cymbal, which eventually removed the tension from the “lips” of his china cymbals and gave them a unique effect. The team at Sabian has paid tribute to their old friend with this HHX Dominator china cymbal, utilizing a special lathing process, a raw bell, and larger HHX hammering. This combination effectively emulates Dom’s signature effect and makes for a beautifully trashy instrument with a speedy, dark attack while also giving the cymbal its unorthodox wavy appearance.

Thanks to Sabian’s HHX family of cymbals (featuring the Evolution, Legacy, Complex, and Anthology models), you can now have dark, musical cymbals that still cut through any mix.
