Register Your Purchase
Take the time to register your purchase with the ToneWoodAmp company to activate your factory warranty. You’ll need to use the ToneWoodAmp Remote app on your iPhone, iPad, or Android device (see below) to find your unit’s Bluetooth ID, which is the serial number.

To take full advantage of the ToneWoodAmp2, you need to use the ToneWoodAmp Remote app on your iPhone, iPad, or Android device. The app connects to your ToneWoodAmp2 unit over Bluetooth.
The app provides a convenient way, on the stage or in the studio, to control the effects produced by the ToneWoodAmp2 hardware. With the app, you can access much deeper parameters and settings than what you can access using the display and control buttons on the ToneWoodAmp2 hardware.
Use the app to control and customize the chorus, delay, reverb, tremolo, and dynamics (compressor) effects, which can be turned on and off and routed in series or parallel.
You can save and recall guitar profiles and presets and share them with other users.
- On your iPhone or iPad, download the ToneWoodAmp Remote app from the Apple App Store.
- On your Android device, download the ToneWoodAmp Remote app from the Google Play Store.
Connect your ToneWoodAmp2 to the phone app:
- Make sure Bluetooth is enabled in your phone’s system settings.
- Power on the ToneWoodAmp2.
- On your phone, open the ToneWoodAmp app and click the Bluetooth icon in the upper right.
- In the list of available devices that appears, select your ToneWoodAmp2, which will have “TWA” in the name.

Overview of Installing the ToneWoodAmp2
First, of course, you need an acoustic guitar with a built-in piezoelectric pickup.
The ToneWoodAmp2 has three components:
- Magnetic X-Brace internal mounting bracket
- ToneWoodAmp2 hardware unit
- ToneWoodAmp Remote app on your iPhone, iPad, or Android device
You must install the X-Brace mounting bracket on the inside of your acoustic guitar’s back. You attach the X-Brace using adhesive pads.
Pro Tip: Installing the X-Brace involves loosening the strings on your guitar to the point that you can reach your hand inside the body to insert and mount the X-Brace. It’s easier to completely remove the strings, install the X-Brace, and then install a fresh set of new strings.
After installation, the ToneWoodAmp2 unit sits flush against the back of your guitar, on the outside, and is held in place by the four strong magnets on the X-Brace mounted on the inside.
To temporarily hold the ToneWoodAmp2 to the back of your guitar for positioning and calibration, you will need a roll of blue painter’s tape (not included). Use painter’s tape rather than masking tape to make sure that there’s no adhesive residue left on your guitar after installation.
You connect your guitar’s pickup output (usually located in the endpin jack) to the input on the ToneWoodAmp2 using the supplied 1/4-inch TS patch cord.
Early in the installation procedure on your guitar, you will need to calibrate settings on the ToneWoodAmp2 through the ToneWoodAmp Remote app on your mobile device to optimize the signal level and eliminate feedback.
You can connect the audio output from the ToneWoodAmp2 to an audio interface, PA system, or powered speaker using the ToneWoodAmp2’s output jack.

If your guitar has an arched (curved) back, then you will need to follow the instructions on engaging the Lift Kit mechanism built into the ToneWoodAmp2 unit to ensure that the unit makes full contact on all corners for proper sound transmission.

How Do I Charge the Battery in the ToneWoodAmp2?
The ToneWoodAmp2 has a rechargeable internal battery. To charge it, connect a wall charger or power bank (not included) to the USB-C port on the side of the unit.
You can read the percentage of battery charge on the ToneWoodAmp2’s display screen by tapping the power button. The ToneWoodAmp Remote app also displays the percentage of battery charge.
The ToneWoodAmp company says that the battery will provide more than 10 hours of playing time once fully charged.
