Why does sample rate conversion occur on the 850 even when SRC is off?
The CD format must always be 16-bit/44.1k. Therefore all sample rates other than 44.1k (e.g. 48k or 32k) must be sample-rate converted. The SRC Off/On function only applies to 44.1k type inputs. Most users will want to turn off the SRC in this condition in order to maintain the cleanest signal path. However some users may wish to turn on the SRC for a 44.1k source that has been vari-speeded out of the 44.1k +/-0.1% range.
