In MULTI or MULTI-SINGLE mode, when I change a parameter on one part, the same parameter in another part is affected. What’s wrong?

Here’s the deal: Let’s say you are in MULTI-SINGLE mode and have Part 1 selected on the Virus. You have just done some work in your sequencer on part 3, which you have selected onscreen.

When you change a parameter using the Virus knobs/buttons, the change is transmitted via the Virus MIDI OUT (assuming CTRL > PanelMode = Int+MIDI). this change is received by your sequencer as input, then sent back out the currently selected sequencer part, which in this case is part 3.

The net result is that you are changing the same parameter on part 1 (via the panel) and part 3 (via midi).

There are three ways around this:

1. Keep the part that is selected in the virus the same as the part you have selected in the sequencer (very difficult for me to remember)
2. put the PanelMode setting to “Internal” while you are messing with your patch setup. once you want to record some knobs, set it to “MIDI”, record, then back to “Internal”
3. keep the PanelMode setting as “MIDI” and forget about the part that is displayed on the Virus LCD.
