Discrete Class A circuitry provides balanced sound for any source

By using discrete Class A circuitry, the Worker Bee provides you with the high-output and wide frequency response that gives you an accurate and detailed recording. A detailed midrange comes in handy to really pop the vocals out in a mix, and pull warmth of brass and higher-pitched stringed instruments. A velvety-dense low end and crystal-clear presence capture the fullness of sound from acoustic guitars and gives you the definition you need from percussion instruments. You can even use two Worker Bees as your go-to stereo pair for drum overheads, pianos, and more.

Diaphragm designed for versatility and response

Sweetwater's recordists know that a medium diaphragm condenser mic is a studio must-have. The Worker Bee's precision-engineered diaphragm is designed to give you accurate, detailed response no matter what source you're recording with it. The gold-sputtered capsule lets you enjoy pristine clarity and broad frequency response.

Essential studio tools you need - included!

Your Worker Bee medium-diaphragm condenser microphone comes with a full accessory package to ensure you have all you need to get the best sound possible. You also get the Beekeeper shockmount to minimize the transfer of vibration through the mic stand protecting your tracks from stand-transmitted low-end thumps.

Amazing mic! Suprising low cost.

Regardless of price, this mic is stunning. I went to AES LA 2016 and listened to tons of microphones. Out of all the microphones I listened to, this was one of my favorites. It sounds very balanced, clear and the top frequencies are smooth and not cheaply sibilant. Even if your budget is higher, you should still give this microphone a shot. I did listen with their Neat Beeline cable. I'm not a believer in expensive cables. I can't comment whether it was the cable that helped it sound that great since I didn't hear it in comparison without the cable.

Totally Impressed

I am a professional classical singer and have recently begun to learn the fine art/science of recording, mixing and sound engineering. This product was recommended to me by Aaron Tremain who had assured me that I would be impressed by the sound of this microphone and the value for the price. He was right. I was BLOWN AWAY by this microphone. Great product! Very informed, capable personnel at Sweetwater!

The Worker Bee Will Be Your New Work Horse!

Let us all get something out of the way: Yes, this microphone may certainly look different and maybe even to some, a little corny. However, all that said, as soon as I found out this company was created by the founders of Blue microphones, I knew I had to take a chance! I have used a pair of these Worker Bees in 4 sessions so far as my drum Overhead mics and they have been AMAZING! The Neat Worker Bee has a pretty large diaphragm and thus seems to capture more of the entire picture that the drummer is painting in the room. The low end information is clear and punchy while not suffering from overly harsh or bright cymbals. In front of a guitar, the same rang through. The mic picks up a very accurate picture of the sound you are hearing and seems to hug it just a bit in the low-mid range. I have yet to use it on vocals, but I already know the Worker Bee will do a tremendous job! And let's not forget it comes with a custom shockmount and pop filter! It looks beautiful in person and I love how it stands out from all the rest of the microphones in our live room during tracking. Pick one up, you will not be disappointed once you hear this microphone.

Good mic. Bad mount.

I'm not sure if I just have bad luck, or if Neat being such a new company just hasn't gotten enough feedback, but it seems their QC isn't up to par with some other companies. I recently got the Worker Bee and I love the mic itself, and also got the Beeline mic cable which is a fantastic, high quality quad cable (five stars on that!) but the shock mount for the worker bee simply cannot hold the weight of the mic. I tighten the thumb screw (the big one that lets the whole mount swivel, not the two smaller ones on the bottom) as tight as I can get it by hand without breaking the plastic joint, and the mic still just swings down and points toward the floor. Sweetwater promptly sent me a replacement mount, but it does the same thing, and was actually even worse than the first one. After two tries I decided to return the mic and go with a Blue Microphones Bluebird. Its a shame because for the money, this is a fabulous mic. Gave me some great results recording with my acoustic when I had the mount secured with rubber bands. Ultimately I decided I want a product that works the way it should, and didn't care to try a third time on this one. It seems others may not have this issue, but be aware that it exists and you may get a model with this useless mount. I personally will be staying away from Neat until their next generation of mics, or if they revamp the shock mount. Then I may grab a King Bee in the future.
