Virus? No not the flue, a TI-2

I play 7 different synths. Novations,Moogs, Korgs, even a Casio... The most amazing is my Virus. From Ambient to flat out EDM this is the most versatile, the one to go to for anything from big leads, to soft backup sounds. It does have a learning curve, But once you get it, you got it and will never go back life without one again. Not only is it packed with sounds, you can change any sound with all the controls, or buy a never ending stream of new sounds. This is the dream machine, the love of my keyboard life... the best part, its so adjustable you can program a new synth anytime you need one!!! I pair a Moog Slim Phatty with it for the full on to die for Dance Music

The best Virtual Analog synth

I've worked with many virtual analog synths over the years, but the Virus TI series is by far the absolute best in both terms of sound quality and programmability. It's the only VA that fits the mix perfectly alongside my Studio Electronics Code 8 and Alesis Andromeda A6. If you want that warm, lush Moog sound it will do that perfectly. If you want spacey drones, crisp plucks, or the wobbly Boards of Canada sound, it does all of those perfectly as well. I credit the excellent Shark DSP's in this synth. They are the same DSP's used in Strymon hardware. Another thing worth noting is the keys on this synth are the BEST of any synth. You will never find keys of this quality on any plastic USB midi controller. The Aftertouch pressure is perfect too!

Access Virus Ti2

I have the Ti2 Desktop and i love the power and the convenience of the Multi-Timbral setup. the Effects are so easy to get to..I love the fact that it has EQ for each part..that's a must for some parts are too bassy and that EQ just creates a balance in the overall song. Nothing can come close to this All purpose Synth...I love it.

Must have synthesizer for any keyboardist!!!

I was convinced to buy this after playing with the polar at my school, however the ti2 keyboard version is even better. Something about having the keys in front of me and the knobs right there makes this an all purpose synthesizer. On the surface for beginner sound designers you can still make INCREDIBLE sounds. But if you know what you're doing or have even a basic understanding of synthesis then the sonic possibilities are endless. Called the Ferrari of synths for a reason, because it is sexy! Especially this limited edition version with the gun metal black and wood panelling. Rapidly has become my new favorite synthesizer for producing and live!

Not perfect, but still the best.

I've owned and used many synthesizers, including those by Access, Novation, Waldorf, Elektron, Moog, etc.. In comparison, the TI2 is by far the most powerful and flexible synthesizer I own. The build quality is miles ahead of most other manufacturers. All knobs and buttons, 1/4" jacks, etc... solid and feel like quality. The keybed itself is exceptional. I use my TI2 as the master keyboard in my studio. The synth engine is deceptively powerful: at first glance it may look like a polyphonic Minimoog... until you discover the multiple osc types: AM, FM, Subtractive, Wavetable, Formant, and more.... The dual filters and moog ladder emulation are infinitely more useful than a single multi-mode affair. The mod matrix takes the virus into quasi modular territory, with many sources and destinations available. A side note re: the synthesis engine; HYPERSAW. Have you ever wondered how dance producers are making those larger than life pad and comping sounds? This is how. Do you want to know what 80 detuned, phase-shifted, and panned sawtooth oscillators sound like in unison? OMG. This synth was made for big anthemic tracks. Then there is the extensive fx section. Multiple types of overdrive and distortion, multiple delay algorithms, multiple choruses, reverbs, phasors, flangers, comb filters, vocoder, etc... The effects are not your average cheap afterthoughts. They sound just as great as any outboard hardware rack. The sound of the Virus? Very low/mid-forward. High frequencies seem veiled, and the oscillators do suffer from aliasing in the upper octaves. This is easily remedied by the Charater section of the virus, which models the frequency responses of other classic synths. Also, there are non-aliasing versions of classic osc shapes in the wavetable section. This is my favorite synth of all time. It ends up on almost every electronic track I do. The synth is incredibly easy to tweak and the OVER 8000 presets can easily be accessed from the Virus Control software. I only gave 4.5 stars because there are some issues: The total integration software glitches at times and the ARP sync and midi timing is unreliable when using the TI software. The built-in audio interface is only USB 1.0... it can be slow, and sometimes gives off pops and clicks (I use mine with a 2014 iMac running mavericks, and a 2013 MacBook pro running snow leopard.) Lastly, I frequently run out of polyphony when using the TI in multitimbral mode. Using complex patches, I can usually squeeze out four tracks before the virus begins dropping notes. All said, the TI2 is still the most advanced VA synth I have ever played. It is so inspiring and versatile that I have sold many of my other synths out of redundancy (Nord Lead 2x, Waldorf Q, Moog Sub Phatty). You won't regret this one.

The Virus TI2 Keyboard is the absolute pinnacle of synthesizer technology to date. I've used many synths from vintage to modern and cannot find another line of instruments that compare to these. When you're ready to graduate to the best synthesizer on the planet, go for the Virus TI. Need proof? Go to any concert and look at their synth rig.
